Working with College Students

Whether you are a freshman or a PhD candidate, college and graduate school can be a difficult time of life. New levels of freedom, social stress, and academic pressures can be hard to manage and sometimes cause emotional distress that you might need some help with.

For nearly a decade, I worked with college students at the University of Colorado in the counseling center. I have provided individual and group therapy for hundreds of students who were dealing with emotional distress due to a variety of circumstances. Below are just some of the issues that I have worked on with CU students.

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Traumatic Events (recent or past)
  • ADHD
  • Test Anxiety
  • Relationship and Social Problems
  • Substance Use/Abuse
  • Self Harm Behaviors
  • Low Motivation
  • Difficulty Adjusting to College
  • Dealing with Difficult Advisors
  • LGBT Issues
  • Social Anxiety
  • Break-ups
  • Struggles with Academia and Advisors

My office is located directly across the street from CU Boulder’s main campus and just a few blocks from CU Boulder’s East campus. Give me a call so we can get started and do the work that can help college or graduate school go well.
